Fear Them Not Therefore
September 25, 2025
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
(2 Tim. 3:1)
As the redeemed of the Lord Jesus, we are living in perilous times. Times that the Lord has foretold us of in His word.
Perilous is defined as: fierce, difficult, grievous, reducing the strength.
Satan is after your faith. He is after your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil wants to silence the truth, silence the word of God,
silence the people of God.
In light of very recent events, it may appear that the enemy is winning. He is not.
The enemy want to frighten God’s people into silence. The temptation for the children of God in regard to our witness
and testimony for Christ is to “just tone it down a little, just keep your Christianity to yourself, don’t be so outspoken about truth and the bible, be smart and play it safe and protect yourself, just be quiet about your faith and you will be okay.”
Do NOT give in to such thoughts. Live boldly for Jesus Christ in this hour
and in the midst of perilous times.
Our Lord told His disciples in John chapter ten that He was sending them forth in as “sheep in the midst of wolves”
but He also told them in the book of Matthew, “Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed;
and hid, that shall not be known.
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
The Lord promises to be with us in the face of persecution. He will not fail us or forsake us or abandon us. He has not given us the spirit of fear,
but of power, love and a sound mind. Christ is victorious over all of the plans and threats of the adversary, and we are victorious in Christ.
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” (1 Jn. 5:4)
Even in death we are victorious. Don’t be afraid. Live for God.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” (Eph. 6:10)
