Ephesians 4:12- 16 “…for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
God intends for His people to grow… to grow up spiritually. He desires for and is working in the lives of those He has redeemed to make us mature men and women of God.
Romans 8:29 ”For whom he did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” He does not intend for Christians to remain “babies”, but for us to become “full grown” believers. He (by His Spirit) is performing this glorious work in our hearts. We must yield and surrender ourselves fully to His will and working in our lives. God grows us as we: study and live by His word, pray and seek His face, walk in loving obedience to our Savior. God will do it if we will trust and allow Him to!
Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
He (by His Spirit) is performing this glorious work in our lives.
